Today's San Francisco Reminiscence

Four of the five occupants of the Boylan office were present at the same time today, and San Francisco (inevitably?) came into conversation. As it turns out, three of us were apparently living in The City at the same time in the early 90's (nb: whenever I use the term "The City," I'm referring to San Francisco [cf. Herb Caen]. I know other cities wish to adopt that name for themselves, including my current city of residence, but, for me, there is only one The City. Do you The Dig?). As we chatted, places I haven't thought about in a while came into conversation: Cafe Macondo, the Roxie Cinema, and the Adobe Bookstore among them - all fixtures of the lower Mission (around 16th and Valencia). Ah well. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, & etc. Now I wish I had finalized plans to return for Spring Break, but the next trip will have to wait 'til summer.
